Membership Application
APPLICATION FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE OR MEMBERSHIP
Individuals or businesses applying for membership in St. Croix Electric Cooperative may complete a membership application one of three ways:
- Contact the office during normal business hours (Mon.-Fri., 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) to obtain a membership application.
- Complete the online membership application below (scroll down). Some tips for making sure the form is properly submitted can be found here.
- Download a PDF of the Membership Application and submit to the Co-op.
Once the application is complete, the member is responsible for following up with St. Croix Electric Cooperative to make sure the application and any additional required paperwork/payments have been received and completed. St. Croix Electric accepts credit card payments in the office and over the phone (Visa, MasterCard, Discover cards).
The membership application will read, in part:
The undersigned does hereby apply for membership in and electric service from St. Croix Electric Cooperative or its assigns. By submitting this membership agreement, the undersigned does hereby accept and agree to the required new construction of power lines and/or other actions deemed necessary by the Cooperative for the immediate or future purpose of furnishing electric service and therein agrees to the following terms and conditions:
1. The applicant will purchase from the Cooperative - when energy becomes available - electric energy used on the applicant's premises, and will pay monthly rates approved by the St. Croix Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. Production or use of electric energy on these premises - regardless of the source - by means of facilities which are interconnected with the Cooperative facilities, are subject to appropriate regulations.
2. The applicant will comply with and be bound by the provisions of the Charter and the Bylaws of St. Croix Electric Cooperative and the rules and regulations as adopted.
3. St. Croix Electric Cooperative is authorized to enter a subscription in the Applicant's name to the Cooperative's monthly newsletter to be paid as part of the Cooperative's monthly expenses.
NEW SERVICE
Members installing a new service must complete a Membership Application, the Easement Form and the Site Plan Form, and mail to St. Croix Electric Cooperative. A Sample Easement Form (PDF) is available to demonstrate how to complete the Easement Form. The form must be completed in black ink. PLEASE NOTE: All individuals listed as "owner" on the county property record must sign the Easement Form. (e.g. husband/wife, partners, siblings, etc.)
If you are building a new home or facility, mail the notarized easement form, the site plan form, your $5 membership fee, and the $350 new service fee to:

If you are moving into an existing home or facility, a $5 membership fee and a $20 account set-up charge must be paid in person, over the phone or mailed to:

If electric service at the existing home has been idle, there will be a $20 reconnect charge added to the account set-up charge.
