March 14 outage update

Flooding as the result of culverts jammed by ice caused and outage leaving approximately 225 St. Croix Electric Cooperative members without electricity in the morning hours of Thursday, March 14.

Outage: 3/14/2019

UPDATE @11:30AM: All members are back on in the Hudson area except for two accounts. Due to the nature of the problem, the switchgear is bypassed and will need to be addressed later when the water line recedes.

UPDATE @ 9:45AM: Country Wood West has been restored, leaving approximately 50 customers remaining without power. A skid steer and transfer pump are en route to clear snow and drain water to access the switch gear cabinet and restore power to the remainder of members.

Committee nominates 2019 BOD candidates

On Tuesday, Feb. 26, the 2019 St. Croix Electric Cooperative Nominating Committee nominated the following slate of candidates to appear on ballots to be mailed the last week of March to members in districts 1, 4, 7 and 8:

District 1: Neil Plourde (incumbent)

Full Load Control expected

According to SCEC's generation and transmission cooperative Dairlyand Power, given the extreme weather conditions anticipated over the next several days Full Load Control events are likely to be issued this week due to anticipated peak demand conditions.

PHONE OUTAGE: 1/18/2019

UPDATE @ 3:00PM: Our telephone provider CenturyLink has corrected the problem with our main phone line and you can once again reach us at 715-796-7000 or 800-924-3407. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Check-in required for all Enviro-Clean drop-offs

ALL items for St. Croix Electric Cooperative’s Enviro-Clean e-cycling program now need to be brought to the back of the building after customers first check-in at the front desk. In the past some items, mostly those for which there is no charge, were collected in the front entryway of the building. All receptacles have now been removed from that space.

OUTAGE: 1/15/2019

7:30PM: Cause of outage was a tree falling through the line  

4:15PM: A crew has been dispatched to assess an outage affecting just over 100 members in the Town of Hudson who are powered by the Trout Brook substation. Updates will be provided as they become available.
