Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the morning of Saturday, May 22 for the 84th Annual Meeting of Members!
As we continue to monitor ever-changing government and health guidelines, there is one thing we know for certain: St. Croix Electric Cooperative’s 84th Annual Meeting of Members will be held the morning of Saturday, May 22, 2021.
The date was chosen by the Board of Directors at its December 2020 meeting to establish deadlines tied to the 2021 Director Elections in Districts 2, 5 and 8. Per bylaw changes made at the 82nd Annual Meeting of Members in 2019, in the event of uncontested races the board can request member ratification of the election of the single candidate by unanimous consent, voice vote or similar means at the annual meeting. (Article V, Section 4 (b) (iv))
As always the order of business at the streamlined Annual Meeting will include:
1. Report on the number of members present in person in order to determine the existence of a quorum.
2. Taking action on unapproved minutes of previous meetings of the members that have been distributed to the members.
3. Presenting and taking action on the financial report and audit.
4. Presentation and consideration of, and if called for acting upon, other reports of officers, directors and committees.
5. Election of directors.
6. Unfinished business.
7. New business.
8. Adjournment.
The order of business may be changed by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the members in attendance and voting at any such meeting. Unless the members by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of those in attendance and voting determine otherwise, the meeting rules provided for in Section 3, above, and the latest edition of Robert’s Rules of Order shall govern all other procedural questions. (Article IV, Section 7)
