Forrest Gleason joined the SCEC team on Nov. 15, 2021, as an Apprentice Lineworker after spending the summer as a seasonal groundman with the co-op.
Forrest came to SCEC after working for close to 14 years for a local utility service company with underground utilities. He joins two other Apprentices and nine Journeymen on the Line Crew.
“I want to thank the line crew for being patient and willing to teach,” Forrest said. “I look forward to working with and learning from all the more experienced crew members.”
Forrest, who grew up on SCEC lines in the Boardman area (New Richmond School District), graduated from Southeast Lineman Training Center (Trenton, Georgia) in April 2020. He currently lives in the city of New Richmond with his fiancée Mandi and their three children: daughters Kaidence and Hartley and son Rylan.
“I couldn't be happier to have been afforded this opportunity at SCEC,” Forrest said. “After line school I had been applying all over the country for an apprentice position. When the opening came up for a summer position at my local co-op it was something I couldn't pass up.
“I feel extremely lucky to have been offered a full-time apprentice position at SCEC. I look forward to working in the community I grew up in and currently reside.”
