Congratulations to Lauren Thompson of Woodville, who has been chosen as a member of the DATCP’s (Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection) newly created Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council. Lauren was elected to the WECA (Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association) Youth Board during the 2019 Youth Leadership Congress, at which she was sponsored by SCEC.
Lauren, a senior at Baldwin-Woodville high school, is one of 15 high school seniors from throughout the state who were selected to serve one-year terms on the council, which seeks to encourage young people to engage with state government and increase their awareness of DATCP’s role in Wisconsin’s agriculture industry.
Haley Beukema of New Richmond and Adaire MacSwain of Hudson were also named to the Council.
